Production responsibilities
  • Plan and execute daily and shift production of organic manure (Cow Manure, vermicompost, Soil Mixes and granulated manures) as per the production plan.
  • Monitor raw material receipt and quality – cow dung, vermicompost, bone meal, neem cake, and additives.
  • Run downstream processing – screening/sieving, drying, mixing and enrichment – to finished-product specification.
  • Coordinate packing schedules with the FFS line so finished stock is bagged, weighed and dispatched on time.
  • Allocate manpower across shifts; brief, train and supervise operators and contract labour.
  • Track raw material, WIP and finished goods stock; raise material requisitions in time.
  • Minimise wastage, rework and bag losses; drive yield and productivity improvements.
  • Maintain daily production reports, batch records and shift logs.

FFS machine maintenance responsibilities
  • Operate, set up and troubleshoot FFS machines.
  • Carry out changeovers – bag size, film reel, forming collar, weight setting and print registration.
  • Maintain sealing systems: heater bars, Teflon tapes, temperature controllers, jaw alignment and seal-strength checks.
  • Calibrate weighing systems – load cells, multi-head or net weighers – and verify pack weights under Legal Metrology rules.
  • Maintain pneumatics (cylinders, solenoid valves, FRL units, compressor) and mechanical parts (gearboxes, chains, bearings, conveyors, cutters).
  • Diagnose electrical and control faults – PLC, HMI, sensors, photocells, servo/VFD drives, motors and panel wiring.
  • Prepare and execute the preventive maintenance (PM) schedule, lubrication chart and daily checklists for FFS and allied equipment (screens, mixers, conveyors, printers).
  • Attend breakdowns quickly, carry out root-cause analysis and record corrective actions.
  • Maintain critical spares inventory (heater elements, Teflon, belts, bearings, sensors, seals) and coordinate with OEMs and vendors for service.
  • Keep history cards, PM records and breakdown logs; report downtime and MTBF / MTTR.
Quality, safety and documentation
  • Coordinate with QC for in-process and finished-goods sampling; hold non-conforming batches.
  • Ensure correct bag printing, batch coding, MRP, net weight and FCO labelling on every pack.
  • Enforce safety: PPE, machine guarding, LOTO (lock-out/tag-out) during maintenance, dust control and fire safety.
  • Maintain housekeeping, odour and leachate control in line with pollution control board conditions.
  • Report daily on production, packing efficiency, downtime and consumption of film, power and spares.
Qualifications and skills Required
  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Agricultural Engineering.
  • 2–5 years in organic manure, fertilizer, agro-chemical, cattle-feed or bulk packaging plants.
  • Hands-on FFS machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of PLC/HMI, pneumatics, sealing and weighing systems.
  • Understanding of composting and manure processing.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, reports; ERP preferred).
Preferred
  • Experience with heavy-duty 1–5 kg pouch FFS lines.
  • Knowledge of FCO standards for organic manure and Legal Metrology packing rules.

Personal attributes
  • Hands-on, willing to work in shifts and in a dusty, outdoor plant environment.
  • Can lead a shop-floor team and communicate in local language plus Hindi / English.
  • Problem-solver with a strong sense of ownership.
